History and Direction

GS2 was started in early 1998 in order to provide consulting and design services in the geotechnical, environmental and construction materials testing fields. GS2 is a privately owned corporation with seven offices and field testing offices located in the state of South Carolina. Currently, our staff is comprised of professional consultants with over 150 years of combined project experience, with professional engineers’ licenses in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, and Illinois.

At GS2 we provide pre-construction through construction consulting services on residential, commercial, industrial, public works, and governmental projects. Local and State-Wide Offices

Engineering and project management for the entire company are performed out of the GS2 main office, which is conveniently located in Seventy Seven Business Park, approximately 2 miles from the intersection of I-20 and I-77, allowing us the ability to service the entire state. From this office we manage and perfrom all geotechnical, materials and environmental engineering for the field offices servicing the entire state. In addition, our state wide services are managed from this location, including; drilling, SCDOT/asphalt inspection, Facilities and NDT services.

In 1999 and 2000, our firm established branch and field testing offices in Charleston and Bluffton, South Carolina, which include full-service field and laboratory materials testing departments. Our Charleston operation is conveniently located off of Dorchester Road, near its intersection with U.S. Hwy 526 and I-26.

We have continued to grow since our first expansion, and in 2004, 2005 and 2006 we established field testing and branch offices in the expanding markets of Mrytle Beach, Florence, Anderson and Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina. The presence of these most recent field testing offices allows us the ability to service the entire state of South Carolina.
